Road Warriors

Road Warriors II

The city of Pripyat had a young (average age 26) populace. As such, there were many young families and as such, the city tried to accommodate the needs by having many schools and nurseries. All work and no play was not good for the soul, so an Amusement park in the centre of the city was also built. This small park consisted of a few fixed rides, including a revolving chair ride, a ferris wheel and a bumper car track. The park was freshly built and set to open to the public for the first time on Labour Day in the Soviet Union, which was May 1st, in 1986. Sadly, the meltdown of the Chernobyl Nuclear Reactor happened just 5 days prior to the opening and all of its potential patrons were evacuated out of the city - never to return. As such, the amusements at the city's heart, were never ridden.
